Comment:Today I will be telling you about how bullying affects a whole school.Bullying doesn’t involve only those doing the bullying and those being bullied. Bullying involves and affects the entire school community. The three main groups that are affected by bullying are the students who are bullied.Students who are bullied can develop physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach pains or sleeping problems. They may be afraid to go to school. Research shows that these students are more likely to get into frequent fights, steal and vandalize property, drink alcohol and smoke, and report poor grades.I need you to stop or try to stop other people bullying, it will make a huge difference. This is important because some kids commit suicide because they’re being bullied.

Comment: Today i am talking to you about a serious and inhumane problem, i am talking to you about the severe problem that is animal abuse. Sources state that many with mental issues are more likely to abuse animals. Cow tipping, dog fights, neglect and seal clubbing all lead to life threatening injuries or even death. This crime has been going on and on for years and chances seemed slim of abuse stopping.
But people have started taking action! even though researchers and farmers can do cruel and technically illegal things to livestock behind closed door, government has taken a stand to protect cats and dogs. A bill has also been passed to make animal abuse in the U.S a felony. Maybe things aren't looking so slim after all!!

Comment: Today I am talking to you about stopping bullying in school. The reason why this is such a big problem is because on www.bullyingstatstics.org/content/bullying-victims.html it says the bullies victim can hurt themselves because their getting bullied. The victim would do this so the bullying would stop because he/she is tired of it. They are too scared to say something back to the bully, and no one is defending them. Do you want this to happen to a family member or a friend because of a bully? We need to prevent this from happening.
I need you to stand up to bullies. No matter if they’re bigger than you or stronger than you. You can beat the bully with words, not violence. It also doesn’t matter if its you getting bullied. You also have to stand up to a bully if someone else is getting bullied. Everyone can make a change. This is important to all of us because this could affect children’s grades and they wouldn’t get into a good high school. This would happen because, the victim will only be worried about when will be the next abuse. Also these children include you if you in first through eighth grade. All in all we need to stop bullying now, not later.
Thank you!
Comment: Today i am going to talk about bullying because there is a big problem with kids in school kids say many bad thing to them like swearing. They mostly bully kids that they think they are gay and lesbian. They also bully the poor people because they think they are defenceless. I would like you people to stop bullies when you see them or tell an an adult that there is a kid getting hurt.
Comment: Today I am typing about bullying. This is such a big problem because at risk for mental health problems, such as low self-esteem, stress, depression, or anxiety. When it goes on and on, bullying can put a person in a state of constant fear. I need you reading this to stand up for yourself, and the other people who are being bullied. This is so important to stop because lots of kids don’t know how bad bullying is. Thanks for reading.

Comment:Bullying
Today I’m going to talk to you about bullying. There are people bullying all over the world. Even people who are witnesses are bullies. Being a bully causes people to get injured or hurt. Also it causes the victim to drop out of school. It can also cause the victim to abuse or even kill themselves.
People everyday are getting hurt by being bullied. Even if it is not physical hurting it is hurting their feelings. People judge others by their skin color. A boy who was in 8th grade was being bullied for being black. Others called him gay. One person in particular during PE. It was hurting his feelings. It wasn’t true about him. He was not gay.
Also bullying causes the victim to drop out. People drop out of school already and now there is even more. 29% more people are dropping out of school because of bullying. Schools with low bullying rates have 28% low than the average. If there were low rates of bullying in every school there would be less people dropping out.
Many people who are victims abuse or try to kill themselves. One example is this year in February, 11 year-old Michael tried to commit suicide after being bullied for liking the show “My Little Pony”. His mom thought it also had something to do with being energetic and dancing a lot. He hanged himself from the top bunk. The parents took to the hospital as soon as they saw him. Luckily he was safe, but still in the hospital.
In conclusion, there are bullies all over the world. If we work together, and be kind to one another the world will be a better place. People are getting injured everyday. Victims are dropping out of school too. Also the victims are killing or abusing themselves. Treat others as you would want to be treated.

Comment:Laboratory testing on animals is very unnecessary and cruel in my opinion.
Animals are kept in tiny little cages where they can barely sit or stand. I can not be in cage for hours where I couldn’t move, I would go bezerk. Would you not? Since the animals are kept in these cages the self mutate. Many lives are wasted because most test are filled with flaws s o the what happens is all the results from the experiments are thrown away. Very few animals survive these tests s if its flawed innocent animals die for no reason at all. You would be mad if an animal killed someone you loved, well the animals related to the animals used for testing would the exact same way. What is really upsetting is that 97,123 animals suffered pain in a year during testing and the animals were given no anesthesia for relief. Many drugs that passed the animal test didn’t work for humans. The drug Vioxx caused 20,000 heart attacks. Also the 1950’s sleeping pill caused 10,000 babies to come out deformed. Imagine you were those animals.

Today I am talking to you about social issue.I was surprised on how dad bullying is going on in schools. When I was reading
http://kidshealth.org/teen/school_jobs/bullying/bullies.html I learned that kids use physical strengh on the victims. It can lead to cyber-bullying also. They can lead to suicide and fear to them. Kids should not be afraid of going to school because of a kid picking on them . They should not even think of suicide because of their classmates. Kids should not be cyber-bullying if the child did not do anything to them or how they look or if there are different from everybody. We should not just stand there watching children suffer. We can make this stop.Prevent children from going to these consequences, that they don’t deserved.
Comment: Bullying is when one person intentionally hurts another person in any way. Someone can bully someone else by using either their words or body language. It is a problem, because bullying can lead to suicide, depression, or self hatred. For example, a teenage girl named Amanda Todd committed suicide after getting bullied at her school. A person may bully because they have been bullied before and want to take out all their anger on other people. Bullying can happen to anyone anywhere. If someone sees bullying they should be more than a bystander. They should take action and tell an adult which is the best thing to do whether you see bullying or are being bullied.
Comment: Bullying is harming another person emotionally and/or physically. It can be online or by text, or just face-to-face. People bully because someone is different in looks, personalities, and permanent or temporary issues. Bullying happens everywhere all the time, and it is a big problem for all ages. For example, in a book titled, “Out of My Mind” by Sharon M. Draper, a disabled girl who can’t walk or talk is judged by several people because she can’t do the same things that normal people can. I believe this is wrong, and bullying is something near-impossible to stop. Therefore, as a community, we should take action to TRY and stop bullying.

In the US military, soldiers kill 100 thousandths of animals for training exercise and these training are not helping at all . Animals surfer of the chemicals people put in their body and die. When this happens the animals spine, rock back and forth, and pull and bite their skin. When they are done with the animals they just kill them . People experiment on them when they're still alive. People act like animals don't feel pain but they really do. Thats why we need to help animals.

A animal can die.The military use animals as practice at war. They cut of the animals leg or the goats leg and it is still alive. Oliver Stone said that the military stab, shoot traumatize the animal for no reason at all. After they kill them they start making fun of the animal. To finish it of they shop the goat up with a axe wile its still alive or they shoot it in the face.

Today i'm here to talk to you about bullying. Bullying can cause depression and anxiety. Anxiety affects kids academically. Which will cause them to drop out of school. A girl named Amanda Todd was bullied so bad that she tries killing her self by drinking tide. She did not die but she was very hurt. Then when she returned to school she got bullied again so she shot herself this time she did not get so lucky. The thing is that she had no one to help or encourage her to stop. I want you guys to become role models so that bullies see that bullying is wrong the role models kids have today are terrible from chris brown beating rihanna to cheef keef doing drugs. are these really the role models you want your kids to look up to. I know this is important to all of us because if you are a parent you don't want your kids being bullied.

Bullying can be for various reasons more than just the three reasons you gave. Bullying doesn’t happen just because you come from a specific place. For example, you could be bullied for your height. Comment: Today I will be talking about cyberbullying and how it should stop. Cyberbullying is very bad it hurts peoples feelings. People think cyberbullying on electronics is very funny but to the people they send it to is very hurtful and even makes them really sad. Some people don’t want to bully by talking in person so they use use electronics instead so they don’t know who is bullying them.
People that bully on electronics is called cyberbullying and that is very bad because it makes people want to cry if there is a bad comment. This should stop because people don’t like the comments and they can’t tell because they say if they tell anyone something bad is going to happen to them. When someone cyberbullies it harms and harasses the other person.
A cyberbully curses and says bad things about you. Cyberbullying is very common now but it should stop because it’s harmful to many people. Some people don’t like people that do those bad things on electronics. Cyberbullying is used to embarrass or hurt other people. Many children are doing this all the time but it should stop.
Kids should not be doing this because it is very bad and hurtful. Some kids don’t care if they hurt anyone they just keep doing it over and over again. This might not be bad to them but it is bad to the people they are doing it to. If you don’t like that person just keep it to yourself and don’t tell everyone. It is much better because that person does not now.
In conclusion people should stop doing this because it is very bad.Just keep it to yourself and don’t let anyone now. People should no they can’t do that. So this should stop so people could stop getting hurt. Thank you for listening to what I had to say.

The reason why this is such a problem is because people are getting hurt everyday from crime, Mentally and physically. Police claim that she was hanging out with a group of teenagers when someone from the group pulled out a gun, and shot Endia. The other June calls her names like Fish Eyes because she says she can’t have the same name as her. The other June pinched her and made her cry by saying that she got her sweater from the trash can. When June's mother asked her why she had bruises on her arms, she just made up a story about tripping on the sidewalk. She didn’t want to tell her mother that she was getting bullied. June should have told her mother she was being bullied, because her mom could have helped her and talked to the other June’s parents.

Book Title: Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina
Book Review: The name of the book I read is Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina. The book is written by Misty Copeland. Misty Copeland is an African- American soloist at the American Ballet Theatre( ABT), one of the most prestigious dance companies in the world. Misty Copeland is the first African- American soloist to perform the famous dance piece Firebird. Misty Copeland also performed with the recording artist Prince.
In the book Misty Copeland talks about her life. Misty Copeland talks a lot about her childhood, her mother, her family, her years at ABT, and etc. The point of the book is for people to get to know more about Misty Copeland’s life, to know her story. Another point is for people to know how Misty Copeland overcame racism and being criticized by many. I feel this book can teach a lot of lessons. I loved this book! I thought it was a really good book. I was able to relate to Misty in so many ways.
I would recommend this book to African- American dancers or to dancers of any race, shape, and size all over the world. I would also reccomend this book to people who have had a difficult childhood or to people that have encountered a social issue. It would help to know who Misty Copeland is before you read the book, but it isn’t something that you have to know.

Title of Book: Esperanza Rising
Author of Book: Pam Munoz Ryan
Book Review Form
Introduce the book
This was an amazing book that shows how a person can overcome all the negativity in their life and become successful.
Tell about the book, but don’t give away the ending.
There is a girl named Esperanza and she has everything she wants. But one thing turns her whole world upside down. For the first time in her life she has to work to get a decent life. She has to do things she has never done like work, share and learn how to help others. But at first she doesn't want to realize that she is not rich and can’t have people working for her. She has to learn to work for herself and even deal with a couple mean people.
Tell about your favorite part of the book or make a connection:
My favorite part of the book is when everything is wrong Esperanza is still nice to the people mean. Her life might even be endangered but she does what she thinks is right. I feel that if she does want she thinks is right not safe, then it is the right thing to do.
Give a recommendation (e.g. If you like…, you will love this book, or I recommend this book to anyone who likes…)
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for encouragement. You can learn so much about determination and hard work from Esperanza.

Book Title: Tuesday of the Other June
Book Review:
Yesterday, I finished reading a book titled “Tuesday of the Other June.” The author of the book is Norma Fox Mazer. Norma Fox Mazer was born in 1931 in New York, NY. When Norma was 13, she decided that she wanted to be a writer. She wrote fiction books.
The main character of the book is a girl named June. Every Tuesday, June went swimming went to swimming class. In the class, there was another girl named June. Other June did not want anyone to have the same name as her so she called June names. Other June called June Fish Eyes, then Buffalo Brain, then Turkey Nose. When June and her mom moved, things got worse because Other June went to her new school. One day at school, June had enough. She finally stood up to Other June. Once she stood up for herself, she knew it was the last Tuesday of the Other June.
The author’s message is that sometimes, you have to stand up for yourself. June’s mom had told her to turn the other cheek but Other June kept calling her names and teasing her. Other June did not leave her alone until she stood up and said no.
I liked this book. I feel like June sometimes. People don’t always call me names but sometimes they are not nice. June showed me that sometimes you have stand up for yourself. And, when you do, people will leave you alone. She also showed me that you don’t have to be mean. She just said no to Other June and things got better.
I would recommend this book to anyone. In order to enjoy the book, you would need to know that it’s about bullying. If someone is being bullied, the book might give them the courage to stand up for themselves.

Comment:Today I will be talking to you about crime in the US,It is really affecting everything here. The FBI gave its informants permission to break the law at least 5,658 times in a single year, according to newly disclosed documents that show just how often the nation’s top law enforcement agency enlists criminals to help it battle crime.
These aren’t crimes committed in the pursuit of some greater good, but just crimes. Crimes just like the crimes law enforcement claims to battle. When a rat whacks somebody over the head, it’s just as violent and harmful as when anyone else does it. It’s a crime. The only difference is that the crime is committed by someone on law enforcement’s team rather than the other team. Not that it matters to the guy who got whacked over the head.
Agents authorized 15 crimes a day, on average, including everything from buying and selling illegal drugs to bribing government officials and plotting robberies. FBI officials have said in the past that permitting their informants — who are often criminals themselves — to break the law is an indispensable, if sometimes distasteful, part of investigating criminal organizations.
In the past few weeksI have learned that the rates of nonfatal gunshot injuries. overall its 46.5 per 100,000 for the city as a whole from 2006 - 2012. Its 1.62 per 100,000 for whites ; 28.72 for hispanics, and 112.82 for blacks. For all males its 44.68 per 100,000; 237.77 for black males, and also for black males from 18 - 34 its 599.65. The numbers are huge, and they cause a lot of help for the person to cause gun violence. The rate for gunshot victimization (non- fatal + fatal) in chicago it is 62.1 per 100k. I think the rates for gun violence for males are really the worst than hispanics and whites because looking at the research the blacks are more involved in the gun violence and killing innocent children and adults.

Sandra also stated that kids shouldn't be afraid of going to school because kids are picking on them. The kids are afraid because they think the bully won't get worse if you don’t tell on them when actually the bully will get worse.

Some people think this is funny because they are not doing it to them. This could injure or hurt someone. That’s why bullying should stop.

Comment: I agree with Gosia Z. from Dever School, because people bully people because of differences. Sometimes people bully someone because they just want to. They pick out a kid and just start bullying them. Bullying should never happen. It can make kids feel like they are worthless and feel like they can’t do anything.

I learned that deadly shootings have become a common thing in the United States. Shootouts are happening everywhere and every day. Shopping malls, movie theaters, schools, hospitals and homes. I also believe that shootouts are also happening at different holy places to. I think that the solution to gun violence is love because when you are not cared about or did not get raised up right, you could have the wrong influence and do very bad things to yourself and others.

Thank you!

Oliver Stone said that the military stab, shoot traumatize the animal for no reason at all.

Today I am going to talk to you about a social issue that probably has had the biggest affect on the social environment and on people and the social issue, is Crime. The reason why this is such a problem is because people are getting hurt everyday from crime, Mentally and physically. A recent shooting has happened just yesterday (April 29, 2014) when a 14 year old girl named Endia Martin was shot by another 14 year old over a boy. Police claim that she was hanging out with a group of teenagers when someone from the group pulled out a gun, and shot Endia. Police claim that the gun was stolen from a man’s vehicle that owned the weapon legally. I need you to stop this crime. Or our world and people will just become worse.

Comment: A big problem in most cities is Social Justice. In the book Code Talker it shows how the Navajo Marines saved the americans lives, they weren’t able to tell their family’s about what happens during War. It was crucial for the U.S. effort, sending messages back and forth, in an unbreakable code that used their native language. Since they couldn’t talk to their family’s they it’s going to be hard for them in war because they will be thinking about family.

Comment: I have read a book called “ Tuesday of the Other June”. In the story a girl named June was being bullied by another girl named June. June would bully the other June physically and verbally. Physical bullying includes pinching, pushing, and etc. Verbal bullying includes calling someone stupid, idiot, ugly, and retarded. Bullying can cause self- esteem issues, and etc. June experienced these examples.

Comment: In the short story, Tuesday of the Other June, a girl named June gets bullied by another girl named June at her swim class.

Comment:Bullying is a very big problem around the world. An example of bullying is continuously bothering someone or purposely avoiding them and leaving them out. Bullying can happen anywhere. It can happen over the computer which is called cyber bullying. In this movie cyber bully a girl was bullied on a website and tried to kill herself. This shows that bullying can lead to people hurting others or themselves.

Comment: I agree with Konrad P from dever school because the little kids follow the big kids and if the big kids do it the big kids think its alright. Also i agree that it would cause more stealing, also it would go throughout their life. But one thing i disagree on is why wasn't she happy with it and what does this have to do with stealing. Also you should have included how most stealing happens

Comment:I agree with Sandra T from William E. Dever Elementary because she makes a point. Sandra is saying that kids don’t deserve to suffer because they're different from everybody. Sandra also stated that kids shouldn't be afraid of going to school because kids are picking on them. The kids are afraid because they think the bully won't get worse if you don’t tell on them when actually the bully will get worse.

Comment:Today I’m going to talk about bullying. Bullying is happening all over the world. This is very bad to do. It hurts peoples feelings. Also it can cause you in big trouble.

Comment:I agree with Sophia J from William E. Dever Elementary School. I agree with Sophia J because she said that people everyday are getting hurt by being bullied. Even if it is not physical hurting it is hurting their feelings. Kids judge others by their skin color and also if their new or different. To me i think its just wrong to bully somebody over a simple thing.
